Germination Kinetics and Chlorophyll Fluorescence Imaging Allow for Early Detection of Alkalinity Stress in Rhododendron Species

نویسندگان

چکیده

Rhododendron species are typical calcifuges that do not grow well in calcareous soils characterized by alkaline pH and high concentrations of Ca2+. In this study, we investigated the effects three levels a Ca2+ treatment on vitro germination seedling growth species: R. chihsinianum, fortunei, vernicosum. Alkaline had no significant effect parameters (gMAX, mean time uniformity) but significantly increased abnormal leaf development (AL) mortality all species. Adding extra reduced for The negative influence seedlings was already visible second day as measured chlorophyll fluorescence imaging (Fv/Fm ΦPSII) fortunei. Extra alleviated Fv/Fm 41 days after seed fortunei chihsinianum conclusion, mainly influenced process itself. Chlorophyll can be an efficient way to perform high-throughput screening alkalinity tolerance.

Infrared and Chlorophyll Fluorescence Imaging Methods for Stress Evaluation

Infrared and chlorophyll fluorescence imaging methods are useful techniques to evaluate environmental effects on plant performance. With the advent of digital imaging and advances in sensor technology, infrared (IR) thermography has become more accurate and less expensive. Modern IR cameras can resolve 0.5 8C temperature differences and researchgrade instruments can resolve 0.05 8C. This precis...

Early Identification of Herbicide Stress in Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) Using Chlorophyll Fluorescence Imaging Technology

Herbicides may damage soybean in conventional production systems. Chlorophyll fluorescence imaging technology has been applied to identify herbicide stress in weed species a few days after application. In this study, greenhouse experiments followed by field experiments at five sites were conducted to investigate if the chlorophyll fluorescence imaging is capable of identifying herbicide stress ...

Early Water Stress Detection Using Leaf-Level Measurements of Chlorophyll Fluorescence and Temperature Data

The purpose of this paper was to investigate the early water stress in maize using leaf-level measurements of chlorophyll fluorescence and temperature. In this study, a series of diurnal measurements, such as leaf chlorophyll fluorescence (Fs), leaf spectrum, temperature and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), were conducted for maize during gradient watering and filled watering experime...

Qtl Mapping of Wheat Doubled Haploids for Chlorophyll Content and Chlorophyll Fluorescence Kinetics under Drought Stress Imposed at Anthesis Stage

Drought stress is one of the major environmental constraints to crop plants including wheat worldwide. Synthetic hexaploid can act as a vehicle for improving crop tolerance against biotic and abiotic stresses. Doubled haploid population consisting of one hundred and forty individuals derived from cross of Opata and SH223 was used in the present study to identify genomic regions associated with ...

Hyperspectral and Chlorophyll Fluorescence Imaging for Early Detection of Plant Diseases, with Special Reference to Fusarium spec. Infections on Wheat

In recent years, market pressures have reinforced the demand to solve the problem of an increased occurrence of Fusarium head blight (FHB) in cereal production, especially in wheat. The symptoms of this disease are clearly detectable by means of image analysis. This technique can therefore be used to map occurrence and extent of Fusarium infections. From this perspective, a separate harvest in ...
